Zac Buehner got his professional start as a metal fabricator in the summer of 2002 as a traditional blacksmith restoring a historic gate in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and since moving to Vietnam in 2016 he has continued to produce custom commercial and private commissions to help support his passion in the arts.

“Burn to Shine” De La Sol - HCMC

This commission, completed in collaboration with The Lab Saigon for the De La Sol exhibition space in 2023, features mirrored stainless steel panels on a spiral staircase heat-treated on both sides to produce a bold, rainbow iridescence. I completed the piece over three weeks, working alone with a giant acetylene flame beneath the intense Vietnamese sun.
